Welcome to the art of Ken Yahw McCalla









Sprout community arts space is glad to present the much anticipated local artist Ken McCalla’s mark in the community landscape, with a new and exciting exhibition. The artist, who is known most recently for his children’s book ‘Vircheu and the Bow’, will be taking his audience on a unique journey through his captivating landscape prints, This exhibition will be displaying original fine art with limited edition handcrafted prints. Ken will also be sharing his unique talent through a number of workshops for adults and children, demonstrating printing techniques of lino, mono and potato printing, which he has mastered over the past 20 years. Ken’s work which was also used in the opening publicity of the arts space back in May this year has been described as ‘beautiful & inspiring.’ Ken’s exhibition will be running from the 10th until the 21st of August with workshops taking place throughout the exhibition.



Workshop timetable

Tuesdays 10th & 17th August, 10.00 - 12.00
Storytelling & card making class. Suitable for 5 - 10 years old.

Wednesdays 11th & 18th August, 10.00 - 12.00
Cultural presentation on print, potatoe printing, card making. Suitable for 6 - 16 years old

Thursdays 12th & 19th August, 18.30 - 20.30
Presentation on printing without the use of a press, Lino. mono, stencil & potatoe print. Suitable for 15 years old - adults

Saturdays 14th & 21st August, 10.00 - 12.00
Cultural presentation on print, potatoe printing, card making. Suitable for all ages

Spaces are limited, booking in advance advisable.
Maximum 20 places on first come basis.
